ns 2.35 fedora 16
Step 1:
NS
is a event simulator, which can be used primarily for networking research. It
provides support for simulation of TCP, routing, and multicast protocols over
both wired and wireless networks.
NS can be installed on computers that run on Windows and Unix/Linux. Most use it on Linux system. This post will help you in installing Network Simulator 2 version NS2.35 in Fedora 16.

yum install libXt-devel
Step 5:
vi /home/username/.bash_profile
cd ~
vi .bash_profile--> copy and paste following code.
# User specific environment and startup programs
PATH=$PATH:$HOME/bin,/root/ns-allinone-2.34/bin:/root/ns-allinone-2.34/tcl8.4.18/unix:/root/ns-allinone-2.34/tk8.4.18/unix:/root/ns-allinone-2.34/nam-1.14/
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$PATH:/root/ns-allinone-2.34/otcl-1.13, /root/ns-allinone-2.34/lib
TCL_LIBRARY=$PATH:/root/ns-allinone-2.34/tcl8.4.18/library
export PATH
Step 6:
[root@ashish ~]# source ~/.bash_profile
[root@ashish ~]#gedit ~/.bashrc
then I have added these lines on the file .bshrc
# LD_LIBRARY_PATH
OTCL_LIB=/home/Myname/ns-allinone-2.34/otcl-1.13
NS2_LIB=/home/Myname/ns-allinone-2.34/lib
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:$OTCL_LIB:$NS2_LIB
# TCL_LIBRARY

NS=/home/Myname/ns-allinone-2.34/ns-2.34/
NAM=/home/Myname/ns-allinone-2.34/nam-1.14/
PATH=$PATH:$XGRAPH:$NS:$NAM
after that I saved the .bshrc file and I closed it
Step 7:
[root@ashish ~]# source ~/.bashrc
Step 8
